What If? Writing Prompts: Nature VI

World Environment Day was on Monday, so here’s a new set of “What If?” Writing Prompts to acknowledge the date! This week’s batch features another collection of prompts about nature and environmentalism. See what stories you can create based on these ideas, and feel free to add more of your own! Have fun!

What if… every person in the world became a vegetarian?

What if… all non-renewable sources of energy on Earth suddenly disappeared?

What if… deforestation of the rainforests could be completely stopped?

What if… every nation in the world contributed to the effort to clean the oceans?

What if… humanity could halt global warming in time to reverse climate change?

Good luck spinning more stories about the environment!

If you have any “What If?” writing prompt suggestions (for any theme), please feel free to share them in the comments below. Ideas I like may be featured in future “What If?” posts, with full credit and a link to your blog (if you have one)! Also, if you’ve written a piece based on an idea you’ve found here, be sure to link back to the respective “What If?” post. I would love to see what you’ve done with the prompt! Thank you!

What If? Writing Prompts: Nature V

Earth Day is this Saturday, and that means it’s time for some new “What If?” Writing Prompts! This week’s post features yet another batch of prompts in the theme of nature and environmentalism. See what stories you can spin from these ideas, and feel free to add more of your own! Enjoy!

What if… there were only one way to save the environment from total destruction… and it came at the price of half the global human population?

What if… human beings were the only animals in the world?

What if… all the trees in the world disappeared?

What if… every food source on the planet became sustainable?

What if… all major sources of carbon emission on Earth suddenly stopped?

Good luck writing more environmentalist stories!

River Stones

Water flows freely
Over the still riverbank
Stones gleam in the sun

Tiny ripples dance
All along the water’s edge
See the pebbles shine

Waves sway to and fro
Winding down the twisted stream
Smooth rocks tumble free

My responses to Ronovan WritesWeekly Haiku Challenge #112: River & Stone. This is my first time participating in this challenge, and it’s proven to be a lot of fun! I’d definitely like to participate again! Thanks for the prompt, Ronovan!

Years from now, it may all be gone!

All across the globe, from
Rainforests to deserts to oceans.
Today we celebrate them all, and
How beautiful our natural world is!

Don’t let this beauty be destroyed.
Always cherish the splendor of nature.
You have the power, so make a change today!
